Texture StyleGAN

I’ve been collecting “texture” photos on my phone for the last few years—the folder has pictures of moss, carpet, shadow. I used to take them as inspiration for when I was doing a lot of pattern illustration, and now I just enjoy collecting different textures as I travel.

I’m interested in overly diverse StyleGans. While I understand the amazement around machine learning generating realistic looking faces, I’m more interested in how ML can be challenged by abstraction. Likewise I’m interested in ways that the human eye can interpret generated images into something coherent or familiar.
